My boat sank. At the marina.
It looks like someone disconnected the bilge pumps.
I bought that boat when a program at University shut down. They had to sell it, and so I got it for an excellent price. It was perfect for my undersea hobbies.
Damn.
Insurance adjuster will be out later this week. I have a feeling they will total it. :|

Wow. I really regret missing the date lottery. I would've loved to see the looks on those faces.
Congratulations, PPTH love birds (haha)
There's another neuro conference in two months, but this one is in San Francisco. Ohhhhyeahhhhh.

Neurology conferences are so boring. It's amazing how much people are willing to rehash over the last month's neurology journal and call it a presentation.
I could've read the journal and gotten the same information from the comfort of my office. Oh well. At least there was chocolate. And I don't have to read this month's journal. :-)
I'm hungry. Anyone in the cafe for breakfast?

I spent the weekend lazing around on a blanket in Princeton park reading a book. It was a beautiful weekend; I don't think I could've asked for better weather.
Next time I'm taking a picnic lunch.
PS - Is there an acupuncturist in the house?
[friends only]
I'm feeling devious. Who's with me? ;-)

Dear Patients,
Please stop throwing up on my clothes. It's really gross, and that's why I gave you that little basin-thing; so you wouldn't throw up on me.
Sick of changing clothes,
Dr. Steele.

I called my Dad sunday. He was so distant... we only talked for a few minutes. I know he'll never forgive me; why do I try? I miss Matt too.

[breakfast] For the nutritionally unmotivated

Steps for a Dr. Steele breakfast:
- 1 Glass of Cold Skim Milk
- Box of Special K
1. Dig hand into cereal. pull some out.
2. Stuff cereal into mouth. Do not swallow yet!
3. Drink milk.
4. Crunch up cereal.
5. Now Swallow.
Ahh, one of the only nice memories from college.
This is best done at your desk, and when you are alone. It may otherwise be considered heathenistic, but then again I'm just short on time. Time for a trip to the cafeteria to rinse out my cereal bowl I have not.
[random]
I think I'm going out on my boat this weekend. I haven't been digging into the sand for almost a month now. The buried artifacts miss me.

Work calls...
[To Kai]
I have your pickles, Mr. Kaito. I'll bring them by later this afternoon.

Well, being a persistent work rat has paid off. 90% of my stuff is unpacked, and I've got the necessary furnishings.
Spent last night wandering about the town aimlessly. Found a good ice cream shop. Work has been good to me, but I haven't seen much of Dr. McKay. I'll have to drop by later and say hi.
Anyone up for the Jazz bar tonight? Kind of feeling the want for some company.

My first full day at PPTH has gone really well. I'm pleased, to say the least.
Rounds went well, no hitches there. I think one of the patients is ready to be discharged, but one more observation day wouldn't hurt.
I checked out that apartment at lunch... I took it, since anything is better than the hotel I've been living out of. The plus-side is that I didn't have to sign a lease, so if I decide I hate it in three months it won't be a big deal moving out. Any suggestions for places that sell furniture?
Can anyone explain the pajama-clad patient that was in the clinic this morning crawling around the floor tiles? I asked him what he was looking for and he said, 'germs'.
... Who knows. I hadn't had my coffee yet. I may have just hallucinated that.

I am sitting at a cafe that has a live blues band and Internet.
I think I just found heaven. ... or at least a place to hang out.
I think I just found an apartment, too. http://newjersey.craigslist.org/apa/772 62723.html
Great.
Time to head back to the hotel for sleep. I'm actually surprised the pager hasn't gone off yet.

I noticed that a couple other people from PPTH have these accounts... I figured I might try the same. Work will get insane, and this might be a good release; we'll just have to wait and see.
My birthday was yesterday. I treated myself to a weekend down in Cape May before starting my new job. It was a good break... I watched the sun rise over the water and took some pictures of the birds and mostly-sunken concrete ship, Atlantis, from WWI. It's amazing, the world's nautical innovations. Concrete Ships? The mere thought makes you want to guffaw and blow off the idea, but it worked. However poorly the ships ran, they still worked and served a purpose.
I'm back in Princeton today. I'm new to the hospital, but I saw a couple patients; nothing really interesting, though. So far I've spent most of today in the lab working on some slides for a project. I figure if anyone needs me, they know where to find me.
Anyway, I finished my salad, so back to work with me.
